Golf Tournament for the M.S. Society at Columbia Golf Course on June 5, 2010. This golf tournament is the second annual event held in honor of Elaine Chapin. Elaine died in November, 2008 from Multiple Sclerosis (M.S.). Her happiest day was when her son graduated from college. After her death, Elaine's husband, Joe Chapin started an annual golf tournament. All of the proceeds from this event will go to a scholarship fund to support post-secondary education to those students impacted by M.S. The expenses with this illness can be quite overwhelming. Between the medical expenses, doctor bills, prescriptions and the inability to work, the funds are hard to come by. My son and I know this firsthand since I was diagnosed with M.S. when he was only a year old. That's why the two of us are getting involved. After the tournament, there will be a silent auction. Any type of help, such as donations, volunteering, gift certificates, promotional items, advertisement, or even a story about the event would be very much appreciated.
