Seat cushions

Does anyone have any advice about the most comfortable seat cushion to use either with a wheelchair or standard chair? I sit quite a bit each day now & am finding it uncomfortable.

I've checked on-line and found one called "wondergel" that looks good. Does anyone have one? I also went to a medical supply store to try a couple but none seemed too wonderful.

Also, my Physical Therapist said that my manual wheelchair has a sling seat that pushes my legs together which isn't good for me. The man at the supply store said that all wheelchairs have sling seats that do that. There's a larger med. store in a nearby city that I can try but I thought you guys might have some better ideas for me.

Memory foam? Gel? Contour? Combination? My sore tailbone needs help.

i have a 'Jay cushion' it can be put in any of my w/cs. it's pretty standard. not sure what it's made of, but it comes in different thicknesses has velcro to set on top on your wc seat.
i've cracked, smashed tendons and done all sorts of things to my tailbone and hips and this definitely makes all day sitting much more tolerable.
have you thought about an adjustable back to your chair. instead of sitting straight up, perhaps a little back adjustment will help.

i pray that you find what works for you so that you can be comfortable.

take care and may God bless ya!
