Question Tired after Ty

Has anyone noticed an increase in tiredness after their infusion? My husband just had his 20th infusion today and is extremely tired and fatigued. I noticed he has been getting more and more tired after each one lately.

Hello Linda,

I have been on TY for 40 mos. I get tired the day of infusion and usually sleep most of the day.

I am off Ty right now and am trying to get back on after this next surgery. I do get very tired and sleepy and usually have to have someone drive me home from infusion but am fine after the day of infusion.

20 infusions so you know all this, but I'm gonna post it just in case you don't. Being fluidized before the infusion and drinking extra after the infusion was important to me for fatigue. And on my 23rd infusion I found out it can't be caffeinated beverages.

Wiped Out

I get so tired I can't drive myself and one time I fell asleep at a friends house not far from the infusion site. Stopped to drop something off for her.

Glad my partner was driving.

Using Ty since Oct. 2009, the fatigue has not changed.

I have been on Ty since January and only got alittle tired after one infusion- can't remember which one, maybe the 3rd or 4th. And then it was after supper, I usually have my infusions in the afternoon.

Morning infusion - no problem

I agree that fluids are key (and my infusion nurse has waggled her finger about that, too) I have my infusions first thing in the morning because I'm always wiped out later in the day. That works for me, but...

We're all different. Be safe!

I usually go for my infusions at 10am. Hubby takes me (our 3 yo comes along, too) and by the time the infusion is done I'm wiped out. I am a MT Dew junkie but I drink very little of it the day before my infusion and none before and make sure I'm hydrated (with no caffeine) for those couple days.

Thank God for our almost 12 yr old, he helps me with the baby and watches him in case I fall asleep because hubby goes to work after my infusion. Infusions are always on Friday so that I can recover for the next couple days with hubby home for the weekend. My infusion center used to be open on Sat. and that made it so much easier.
