I am a Reading Specialist in an elementary school (525 students).... we have 3 trailers and are overcrowded.

My job is very busy and I am ALL over the building and all grades.... I even co teach a third grade math (go figure)

Today I happened to be in my principals office about 5 minutes before we were to have an announced (to the teachers) fire drill. We had a teacher, from the trailers out for the day. Long story short I volunteered to walk out to the trailers to help the sub conduct the fire drill.

As I walked into the trailer, I realized the sub was in a wheelchair. The spot for this class to gather for drills requires a walk across a grassy field (wet due to rain/snow recently). I told the sub I would conduct the fire drill.. no need for her to go over wet grass etc.... still a far walk for me, not to mention the walk to the trailer.... I really didn't think much of it.

After school I again had to speak to my principal (who had no idea that the sub was in a wheelchair) and never intended me to conduct the fire drill (and I am not sure how she found out I did). She apoligized that I had to do that much walking.

Now that got me thinking...I just went to the neuro on MLK day and had a great appointment, but since then, my legs have really been bothering me and I have felt a change in my walk.

Has she noticed something (she knows about my MS...and is VERY accomodating) about my walking????? Should I ask her????

What to do??

I don't think I would ask her about the walking. You might just as a close friend or relative that is around you often.
