I have terrible allergies! This is not a new problem and anyone who has read my posts has probably had an earful.
But now it presents a new problem. Lately, I've had too many mornings that I wake up with my bed soiled, YUK! I'm tired of changing sheets so I ordered some pullup panties on the internet. I talked to a lady and told her how bad my allergies are and they must be unscented. The next day a big package arrived full of absorbent panties. They were kind of cute. I wore them one night and I thought, 'this is wonderful' no more washing underwear again. But lo and behold, THE USUAL. The third night I put them on itching and itching and itching. I tried cortizone creme, but, forget it. It was no match for absorbent panties filled with baby powder. I want to try cloth diapers. I just don't know where to start. Do we have to use diaper pins like when I was a baby? And why BABY POWDER? We are adults. If anyone has used cloth diapers, I'd like to hear about you experience. Thanks! |

I dont use them, but I know several people who do use cloth diapers. The adult ones come with snaps. At least the people I know, theirs come with snaps. Not sure of the companies used tho.

have you checked out washable incontinence panties, i used to use some made by a firm called conni, not good for really heavy loss but you can also buy booster pads to use at the same time to help this
there are also absorbant pads that are washable and reusable that fit into knickers so you just change the pad. and yes there are out and out diapers with press studs but that is usually to make it easier for carers to change a dependant person. what also comes to mind is that it has been recognized that some women do react to femine products such as tampons and the usual monthly pads, apparently its due to the chemicals in the bleaching process, so there are companies that make all cotton no bleach/chemical products, they may have also produced incontinence pads too but the re usuable washable pants were great for me until i needed the cath, there was no rustle of paper/fiber pads under clothing, they are best if firm fittin as this contains odour and leakage and they launder well, the conni pants just said do not use fabric softner as it can reduce absorbancy another company is minappi but there are more around than these 2 |

Fear not, ladies... 'tis not Swedish Prince, but his wife. I've high-jacked his name to respond to this thread because I just got my catalog from The Vermont Country store yesterday and noticed "washable absorbent pads" and "incontinence briefs" for women that sound like they might be helpful.
You can Google The Vermont Country Store and enter 'absorbent' and 'incontinence' in their search box. These things are washable, polyester/rayon or cotton blend depending on which product is chosen. Machine washable. Hope this helps. |
