Jeffrey is an MS-retired attorney and now the author of two excellent books about MS and the cognitive struggles people with MS can face. His first book (see the title with link to that review above) was a page turner for me and I wasn't sure he could surpass that writing.
I was wrong and I'm glad.
This second book is even more a page turner written with ease and flare that keep you wanting to read and enjoying the ride.
Now let's face it, the preface of a book isn't usually a page turner but I encourage you to read the preface and introduction because it gives more meaning to his title and the writing that follows.
He interviews, and I use that word loosely because I'm pulled into the conversations, three well-known personalities. He weaves into these discussions how he relates to how Richard Cohen, Montel Williams, and Mary Mullarkey use as coping skills - but mostly about how they keep going in spite of their MS.
The book moves on to writings by a neurologist: "A Neurologist's Thoughts on Thinking in Multiple Sclerosis," a U.S. Magistrate who is highlighted in, "My Mental Limp" who decided to start her own business; To the former U.S. Marine whose chapter, "Popping the Clutch," will get you thinking. These are followed by more of the same stories on psychological coping, "The Dance of Life...," "...Defining the Cause," problem solving and advocating by contributing writers and Jeffrey.
Jeffrey's postive and realistic attitude will make you think and the book will give you suggestions and options you either use already or might try in the future.
This book is written by people who understand MS and what it's like to have mental disruptions due to this disease but you will go away with ideas and possibilities where before you might have only seen despair.
It's good to know we are not alone.
Now go write this down before you forget to remember to order this book. It's well worth every penny spent.
